The Southern Belle is a restored Georgian pleasure steamer built in 1925 for the Earl of Mt Edgcumbe. She now runs regular full length excursions along routes established in the golden age of river transport.
The atmosphere on board is friendly and relaxed reflecting that magical period between the two world wars. Below decks a cosy teashop provides home made local cakes and sandwiches and is fully licensed.
On last season’s excursions we regularly encountered Seals, Cormorants, Egrets, Herons and Marsh Harriers.
The original 1920s ticketing system is still in use and toilet facilities are available on board. A warm welcome for all age groups is assured. |
